BRENT LUEBBERT, LMT

he/him

injury management, mobility issues, longstanding muscular tension patterns

Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays

“ I have an intuitive approach to massage and address the whole body as an interconnected system. My years as a professional dancer have given me an appreciation for how bodies hold tension and how these patterns can turn into pain and escalate into injury. Getting to the root causes of problems feels like a puzzle and I enjoy investigating how the pieces fit together. ”

Brent’s decade-long career as a professional dancer, with the high demands on his body that come with it, has given him a deep personal knowledge and inherent interest in pain and injury management which led him on a journey into massage and manual therapy. He aims to find the underlying causes of pain and has a treatment style that is primarily informed by Swedish massage, deep tissue and myofascial release, elements of CranioSacral therapy, and more. He works with each individual to find the right blend of techniques that works best for their particular body and symptoms and often sends patients home with stretches or movement suggestions for support outside of sessions.

Brent is particularly well-suited and most frequently booked by people experiencing both acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain of the lower back, neck, shoulders, lower legs, and and ankles and he is especially skilled in releasing restrictions and increasing mobility in these areas. He enjoys supporting active people move out of pain and recover from injury and working with patients to de-pattern postural and movement habits that contribute to persistent conditions. He is most fulfilled when someone leaves a session with significantly diminished pain — something a majority of his patients enjoy after even a single visit.

After growing up in Portland, Brent graduated from Point Park University with a BFA in modern dance. From there, he studied and obtained his massage therapy license from East West College of the Healing Arts. Brent has danced professionally with Pillow Project, Attack Theater, Éowyn Emerald and Dancers, Bodyvox, and Washington Dance Collective and is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS). He remains active in the Portland dance community and enjoys yoga, hiking, camping, playing video games and reading. You can learn more about Brent in this meet your practitioner interview on our blog.

Allison Koehler

she/they

Director of Operations

when you need me call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far

“ I live and work from a base of interconnectedness, symbiotic relationship & responsibility, and care — external and internal; human and non-human; past, present, and future. I believe that what is in the way often is the way and that we're all in this together. I want people to take good care of themselves and be taken care of when they need support. I'm happy lending a hand however I can. ”

A clinic neighbor, Allison (she/they) is very likely the first face you’ll see (or email correspondence you’ll have) as a patient with us! She’s the wizard who makes all the magic happen and if she’s not at the clinic, trust she’s behind-the-scenes working to improve our processes and practices or dreaming up some new ideas for us.

Her collage of experience includes nearly a decade in the film industry as a festival curator, director of programming, and outreach & education director. Allison has opened an independent coffee shop and worn a series of hats intended for marketing directors, senior account execs, farmers market managers, sales specialists, consultants who advise on systems, processes, and organization, and lastly but not leastly, the very particular type of hat made for unicorns (actual job title and best fitting hat!).

In addition to lending her skill sets to us, Allison provides 1:1 support as a certified transformational coach through her practice Being Alive and is working on crafting herbal offerings through small creative projects The Common Cauldron and Practical Magic Kitchen. Allison agrees with bell hooks that love is a verb and shares Bjork’s revelation that nature has fixed no limits on our hopes. In her free time, Allison is cooking, gardening, hiking and generally immersed in nature, hanging out with her partner and two cats, and learning as much as and as often as she can about an endless list of interests!
