We integrate both ancient and emergent techniques, with a focus on pain rehabilitation and prevention through comprehensive patient care.

We begin by understanding your unique starting point—seeing you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. From there, we work collaboratively to address your specific concerns and build a personalized, achievable care plan. Our shared-care model allows for seamless scheduling across providers, so you can access the support you need when you need it.

We welcome all people — all races, genders, sexual orientations, body types, professions, and religions. Our clinic is open to new patients who are very familiar with acupuncture & bodywork as well as those just curious about getting started.

complex pain & medical histories, sports medicine, orthopedics, yoga

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays

“ Everyone deserves to live a more pain-free and balanced life. I’m inspired by the immediate and longterm effects I’ve seen acupuncture, bodywork, and yoga have on a person and find this work both humbling and invigorating! It is a privilege to be trained in and share these healing modalities with our community. ”

As a life-long student of movement and owner of Turning Pointe, Alissa has over a decade of personal and professional experience dedicated to the healing arts — from teaching yoga and therapeutic exercise in physical therapy clinics to practicing massage therapy in chiropractic clinics and wellness centers. She is dedicated to helping individuals identify and treat pain and movement dysfunction at the source to return to activities they love and avoid future injuries.

Patients often make their way to Alissa’s treatment room exhausted and desperate for relief after finding few answers elsewhere. Her approach has been described as deeply informed, affirming, compassionate, and caring — and she is so fulfilled by following the threads that lead to less suffering for everyone from professional athletes to folks just wishing to feel better in their bodies.

Alissa is passionate about supporting people who are struggling with multifaceted symptoms, overlapping or evasive diagnoses, and persistent pain. She is particularly interested and skilled in addressing radiculopathic conditions including experiences of weakness, numbness, and tingling; chronic headaches, menstrual cycle concerns, injuries related to sports and exercise, and symptoms of overtaxed nervous systems including anxiety and insomnia. Alissa also brings a deep understanding of how circumstances of overwhelm, transitional grief, and bereavement affect the body, connecting the dots between physical and mental-emotional distress.

Alissa holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Human Physiology from San Francisco State University. She has 500 hour certifications in both massage therapy and yoga instruction. She is currently pursuing a post-graduate certificate in Sports Medicine Acupuncture from one of the most advanced orthopedic & sports medicine acupuncture programs available. When she is not at the clinic, Alissa enjoys hiking, cycling, swimming, creating fiber art, and spending time with her partner and two cats. injury management, mobility issues, habitual muscular tension patterns

Brent is not currently accepting new patients

“ I have an intuitive approach to massage and address the whole body as an interconnected system. My years as a professional dancer have given me an appreciation for how bodies hold tension and how these patterns can turn into pain or escalate into injury. Getting to the root causes of the issues feels like a puzzle and I enjoy investigating how the pieces fit together. ”

Brent's decade-long career as a professional dancer has given him a profound understanding of physical demands placed on the body, sparking a personal interest in pain and injury management. This journey eventually led him to explore the field of massage and manual therapy, where he has honed his expertise.

With a calm, centered approach to treatment, Brent draws from a variety of techniques including Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Pin and Stretch, and elements of CranioSacral therapy among others. Brent is especially skilled and most frequently booked by folks seeking relief from both acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, tension, and mobility restrictions, particularly in areas like the lower back, neck, shoulders, and lower legs. He enjoys supporting active people move out of pain and working with patients to de-pattern postural or movement habits that contribute to stubborn, persistent conditions — often providing stretches and movement strategies to complement treatments outside of sessions. Brent is most fulfilled seeing someone leave a session with significantly reduced pain, which is something a majority of his patients enjoy after even just their first visit!

After growing up in Portland, Brent graduated from Point Park University with a BFA in modern dance. From there, he studied and obtained his massage therapy license from East West College of the Healing Arts. Brent has danced professionally with Pillow Project, Attack Theater, Éowyn Emerald and Dancers, Bodyvox, and Washington Dance Collective and is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS). He remains active in the Portland dance community and enjoys yoga, hiking, camping, playing video games and reading. You can learn more about Brent in this meet your practitioner interview on our blog.

“ I believe that through collaborative, holistic and trauma-informed care, open communication, and analytical / clinical processes, we can center and remind the body of its inherent desire to thrive without pain. California born, Nevada raised, and now a local Portlander, Cate has been practicing massage and manual therapy since 2019. Her path into therapeutic work began unexpectedly at age 18 while studying theology in Germany, where she first developed a deep appreciation for holistic healing and the mind-body connection.

Her sessions offer folks a chance to reconnect with their bodies, gain clarity around their patterns of movement and tension, and begin the process of meaningful, sustainable healing. Drawing on advanced techniques and training including Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Technique, joint mobilization, facilitated stretching, and RockTape Kinesiology taping, Cate is a confident partner in post-surgical and non-surgical injury rehabilitation. Whether you're an athlete recovering from injury, a retiree looking to move more independently, an expecting parent, or simply someone seeking to feel more at home in your body, Cate is committed to meeting you where you are and especially passionate about helping people build resilience, reduce pain, and develop a deeper sense of agency in their bodies. Working with Cate will move you toward greater connection, ease, and empowered action to care for yourself — on and off the massage table.

“ I am motivated to help you heal quickly so you can return to the activities you love! I offer patient-centered care while seeking to find the root causes of imbalances in your system by supporting both your mind and body. ”

Over 30 years ago, Dr. Charisse Squires began her journey into natural medicine, initially drawn to how diet influences health. Her interest quickly expanded to include nutrition, exercise, mind-body practices, herbal medicine, supplements, and Chinese medicine. In 2000, she was introduced to acupuncture and herbal medicine. Though initially skeptical, her first treatment brought noticeable stress relief, prompting her to continue exploring this healing approach. Over the years, she has successfully used Chinese medicine to manage a wide range of personal health concerns, including kidney stones, pain, stress, colds, digestive issues, fatigue, and heart-related symptoms.

Charisse began formal training in 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (MAcOM), and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM).
